Stereo Installation 700 1991

I bought a 1.5 DIN Alpine stereo (CDA-D852)for my '91 740 sedan and was wondering if anybody could tell me whether or not this will be possible, because the people at the store told me that it would be possible. When I came back, they said that they couldn't do it. I have had various reports from different people. Any opinions?
