pressure testing would be a good idea but may cause leaks due to the age
and condition. normally you wouldnt see cracks leaking externally.
one way you could check for cracks or a headgasket problem is to
fill cooling system completly to the top of the radiator, disconnect the coilwire, have a helper crank the engine over for 10 to 15 seconds while
you watch the coolant level at the radiator fill cap. if it is cracked or
has a blown headgasket you will see the coolant rise or be pumped out due
to compression leaking into it.
