The ECM for B230F in 240 has the same p/n for 1986 thru 1988. Depending on your situation, maybe you can find one cheap at a recycle yard and test it. Just be sure the Bosch part numbers all match.

I can't see how a failing ECM would prevent the engine from turning over. Maybe not getting spark, but not failing to crank over. That's usually a weak battery or bum starter.

What else is going on?
