Shade tree in NYC? Need shop space!

Neat idea: a coop garage. There used to be one in Cambridge, Mass but they closed due to insurance liability concerns. Forming a Brooklyn car club and renting one, sharing the cost among all the members according to usage, might not be a bad idea. All I know is that my next house will have a garage with a roof line high enough so I can install an in-ground post lift.
