Drivers side wiper doesnt work.............??? 200 1986

Bob, The same thing happened to my wife's SAAB last week,she left the wipers on when she shut the car off at night.I started the car the next day and the driver's side didn't move.The cable in the wiper assembly transmission broke.The dealer wanted $25 just for the cable,so I ended up getting a used wiper transmission from the boneyard for $25.
You may want to get a used assembly and just switch it out instead of messing with the cable.
