Down draft weber and parts 140-160

Mine is the press in style. so either the casting of the carb was poor or the inserts were poorly machiened to fit. since the fuel comes in through one side only I have shimmed the otherside with stainless steel wire to get the tight fit although this is simply a temporary solution to a more serious problem. Some of my symptoms are: 1. The car almost always desels or runs-on after the ignition is turned off. I prevent this by using 1st gear and the cluch however this is hard on the whole drivetrain. Timming is right and idle screw is closed as far as possible while still maintaining a good idle. 2. As throtle is applied, either suddenly or slowly, when the secondaries open there is always a considerable stumble and hesitation for a few seconds until full acceleration and a consistant exhaust note is acheived. 3. I don;t know what you all get for gas milage on a performance vintage volvo but mine is terrible even if I can keep my foot out of it. maybe 18-20MPG.
Thanks for the help, keep it comming. I love this car!!!!

Wayne
