It's been a long while....but I have a question...... 200

I agree completely with Mr. B.L. Guy.

Replacing the tie rods is a very straightforward task -- if you'r handy with tools, you can do it. Just get a few instructions here before you dive into it.

Take the opportunity to examine the rubber accordian boots -- do NOT install new tie rods if the boots are torn (or appear about ready to fall apart).

This is a good time for outer tie rod ends, too. And lower ball joints, if needed.

None of these are hard to do, but you'd need a front end alignment after the tie rods and tie rod ends -- so do 'em all together before you pay $50 for an alignment.

Concerning a jack, you can probably find a good used 240 jack at a boneyard for $3.

Don't screw with your AC. Big bucks to convert to 134, replace parts and compressor, etc. Is it really worth it?
