Interesting: reversed polarity. I can imagine that some of the digital electronics might be fried (ECU, etc. ) but the rest such as lamps, motors, and so on should be fine. Start by tracing the function of each component, isolating the bad ones and acting accordingly.
The master cylinder sounds shot because of corrosion. You also need to flush all your fluids. See the FAQ.
