Firstly, you want as much advance as your motor will tolerate
without detonation.

I don't think there are any "better" or "worse" distributors
out there except for the 1975 bosch electronic ignition dizzy
which is better than others because it doesn't have points.

I'd use which ever distributor has the least wear.
