Do you need to replace the rotor with the pads? 200

I guess we are all designed to wear out at some point, but my 1980 245 with close to 270,000 miles still has the original rotors in great shape. I think that it depends on a number of things (the type of pads that are used, the driving style, whether or not the pads were worn to the point of metal to metal contact etc.). I think the rule of thumb is a slightly wavy but smooth surface is OK, but if there is sharp edged grooves that will catch your fingernail, replace or resurface the disc.
