Back in 1956 our high school band director told me and a friend,
"It's going to be quiet around here next year when you guys are gone!"
Interestingly I just made contact with the friend, whom I had not seen or
heard from since the early 60s, and the band director died a couple weeks ago.
I hope that my purpose in life is greater than just providing occasional
entertainment to my friends, but I do consider that worth doing.
(within reason).
I started working on the clutch master cylinder with a slotted broomstick
and some 600 grit wetordry. After about half an hour it looked pretty good
so I went on to another one I had. Guess what! Couldn't get the broomstick
in the cylinder. In the time between the two the water made the broomstick
swell to where it was too big! Maybe today, or another broomstic, etc....
