Looking at a 122S...help!? 120-130

What color is it?

Actually, that don't matter with the 120 series.... they are all great cars. Color be damned.

That warped/burned part is replaceable, and when you take it off, you'll probably find the reason its melted. Or it *could* just be disfigured from the sun... In any event, that shouln'd be a problem.

The "S" doesn't really mean anything. All that came to the US are 122Ss...except for the rare 123GT. What is the body style of this one you are looking at? 2 door, 4 door, or wagon? Two door sedans and wagon models seem to be worth the most.

I'd be a little (and only a tiny bit) concerned about electrics... its pretty common that folks (folks like me) have monkeyed with the wiring, and that could be the cause of the problem you mention...but even there, it shouldn't be a big problem.

One warning though... 122 Volvos in stock form drive like tractors. If that's what you want, go for it. Otherwise, there's lots of modifications you can do to civilize the car if you choose. But whatever you do, it ain't gonna feel nice and civilized like a 240...or even a 140 for that matter.

What's the fella asking anyhow?

-Matt
