Buzzing, rattling shift lever. 140-160 1974

I recall having that problem on my 72 and 73 140's.

Memory tells me something about unscrewing the lever from the tramsmission top extension thingy, and finding a spring inside that I stretched in order to tighten everything up. There was also some sort of nylon or teflon "cup" that went between the ball on the shifter and its base in the trans top. That "cup" tends to wear out, allowing things to go metal-to-metal.
