I have a 73 and it's shifter would buzz and rattle something fierce at any speed. I just wrapped the shaft coming out of the transmission with some teflon tape and filled the shifter lever up with some caulk and jammed it back down on there. Not the most technological fix but it worked, it doesn't buzz or rattle at all anymore.
