142E Throttle return spring 140-160

Hi guys,
I'm still putting 100 miles/day on my 71 142E and could not be happier.
I have a problem with the throttle return spring. It does not seem to be strong enough bring the throttle back to idle. I have stretched the spring about half an inch and then reattached it to the base, but the fix did not last.
Sometimes it returns to 800 rpm, sometime it wants to stay at 1500-2000 rpm. I can lightly 'tap' the pedal and it usually returns, but this is a pain.
Has my spring simply worn out?
Where can I find a replacement spring, or perhaps I can attach another spring to the throttle body to fix this.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks,
Jeremy
