I read your very detailed posting.

I have a similar problem and will work through your check list.

A way to check for leaky intake gaskets and other suspected areas is to spray a bit of carb cleaner in those areas and watch for fluctuations in idle speeds.

Careful as carb cleaner is very flamable.
