Installing Driving Lights 120-130

Phil;

...it's a minor point maybe, but you may want to reconsider...just hypothetically, and for the purpose of discussion...what would happen, if your relay or its supply wiring was to fail and short out...wired as you prefer, the fuse would NOT protect things from sorching...baaaaad!

Generally, a fuse should be located at the power source end of a circuit (in your home electrical system, the fuses/breakers follow this rule by being located at the "electrical service entrance" in order to allow the protection of EVERYTHING downstream, inside the house). In your car's system, by placing the fuse after the relay, you ONLY protect wiring and components downstream from it...upstream wiring and components are NOT protected.

If you're going to install a fuse, you should place it where it will protect the most it can...don't you also try to get the most mileage from each gallon of fuel?

Cheers
