crane ignition engine misfires 140-160

This may be a long shot, but...

Once upon a time I was driving my 122 that had a Crane in it. It started skipping and missing. I Thought it was fuel flow for the longest time. Finally I pulled the distributor. The optical pickup had been rubbing on the chopper wheel, wearing ever so slight amounts of plastic off. This plastic would end up in the chopper wheel gaps until two were nearly closed off. This kept the optical sensor from sensing. Anyway, I raised it up a bit and cleaned out the slots and all was fine.
