front lights 700 1989

Matthieu,

I would forget the sealed beam lights altogether. Instead, the most cost effective method of increasing the lighting performance is to use the european non-sealed beam drop-in replacements. These lights are known as H1 (hi) and H4 (hi/lo) headlamps.

These lights throw out a very broad and long light path - so there is very little need for foglights and if you re-wire your light harnesses, you can get super high wattage lights (ie up to 130w) into the lens and still not blind oncoming drivers.

Good brands to look for in the square configuration are (from best to worst IMHO of the ones I have used): Cibie, Hella, Carello, Lucas & Bosch.

This upgrade is one of the best things I have done for my car! It is great during the long winter months and once you have them you won't be able to understand why manufacturers went to molded one piece aero headlamps.

Hope this helps,

Tim
