clunking under load 200

I've replaced mine. I used the instructions in the Bentley manual and help from the archives on this site. It takes a floor jack, jack stands, socket wrenches, and a shop press. I bought a 12 ton shop press from Harbor Freight and used pipe fittings to hold and press the old bushings out. If you aren'nt a do-it-yourself person, you might have the mechanic do the job. (You may also need the rear trailing arm bushings as well.) Another approach is for you to remove the torque rods (mark which is left and right and which end goes to the axle) and take them along with new bushings to a machine shop and have them press out the old and press in the new.

I figure that I spent the same buying the press, the rear trailing arm bushing tool, and the new bushings as I would have paid a shop to do the job. Now I have the tools and can do other 240s in the family if needed.
