In the book, Volvo's First Forty Years, which was published by VOlvo, they admitted that one ad didn't go so well- in 88 they were shooting a white 740 sedan which was to hold up a big 6-wheel box truck. They got it lined up and CRUNCH- the A-pillars collapsed- the door frames had popped outward and the front of the roof crushed. They had to go searching for another car for the ad shoot. With the doors tied to each other, it held the 10-ton truck.
