swaping out to automatic 200 1978

The rear axle ratio will most likely be different. Auto trans cars from that era should have a higher ratio than the manual trans cars.
You would be in for a lot of work.
See this from a couple of days ago. It's the reverse of what you're wanting (auto to manual) but you get the idea of what's involved.
Better to find another manual. Are you sure the one you want to pull is bad?
