How do I turn off the check engine light? 700 1991

I agree with Kenric -- unplugging/plugging an AMM with the ignition IS risky.

You must have a turbo car. The '91 turbos used Bosch LH injection, the '91 non-turbo 740s used Bendix Rex-Regina, which has no AMM. (But R-R has a temperature sensor in a fitting located where the AMM goes and it looks like an AMM -- so can be misunderstood to be an AMM.)

The Brickboard FAQs describe how to reset your OBD light. I've used the directions successfully to reset the "check engine" light in my '91.
