Colin,
I haven't been able to find "track rod" on an American web site. If I understand you correctly, the inner joints in the picture, under the rubber boots, should be the same distance from each other as the inner pivot point of the lower control arm/"A" arm? I assume the point is that the outer steering link and the lower suspension arm will describe a similar arc?
