to a degree, they are as lousy as reported.

EXCEPT - the ones that have lasted this long are pretty solid. Poor maintenance is what killed these cars early, and those cars are already long gone. The ones still out there are likely well maintained.

FYI, the model years were '80-'85 (in the US)
