Rhys,
He said the vacuum gauge needle is rapidly fluctuating from about 5"-12".
Camshaft, which was rebuilt, has been checked and double-checked, found to be within allowable tolerances. He has double-checked manifold, valves, all the usual things. No leaks. Compression is good. The carbs are rebuilt and rechecked also. Right now the Strombergs are on the car. Could the problem be the needles in the ZSs? They're new, but could they be the wrong size? It's shot-in-the-dark time. The car is hard starting when cold, easier starting when warmed up, but still not right. Out on the highway, it's perfect.
