78 245 trailing arm problem 200 1978

I just did this a few months back, the differential will rotate with both trailing arms disconnected. Next time I will do one side at a time. I just put a small hydraulic jack under the front part of the differential and raised the front of the differential to rotate it into the proper alignment. Everything should fit fine.
Don't give up now. You may be able to collapse the old rear trailing arm bushings with a hammer and chisel. They get rusted in place and it takes lots of elbow grease to get the old ones out even with the tool. Good luck! Dan
