hi there . looking to do the same as you are. i am going to change the camshaft . the one from the factory is poor it probably came with a M camshaft . it is stamped on the rear of the cam . then i will remove the front muffler i think it is a resonator not good for flow , then change rear muffler .and just keep searching for little things like airbox modification,tune up with good quality parts. and go from there.it is a money thing more money more speed.this is probably about four to five hundred in new parts. good luck. :>
