Soapbox derby eh? (ugh.. too punny for my own good).
K-Jet's simple in the way that a fine Swiss watch is simple. The general ideas are fairly simple (well.. not entirely), but there are dozens of tiny finicky parts to deal with.
The fact that not many people have an intimate knowledge of K-Jet speaks to the fact that it's doesn't have a binary mode of operation. EFI like LH-Jetronic will usually (with a few exceptions) work perfectly or not at all.
Whereas K-Jet will slowly degrade to the point where the owner feels that this is what's expected of the car.
P.S. EFI was around in the early 70s as well (D-Jetronic and its clones as used in many many cars).
