Um, hard to say this, but you may consider parting it out. I've heard on this board that '89 was the worst year for the 240 electrics.
I know how you must feel. I have an '84 that needs more work than it's worth, but I'm gonna keep at it (no rust GA car)
Hopefully someone else with more know how will reply more favorably.
