My project isn't going anywhere at the moment :) I also have a very rusty 1972 142s which I had to weld frame and floor sections into just to drive around for the summer (Now a parts car since it went through its second windshield in 6 months) and some new parts.
SOON I will have this 71 142s (which I have never seen in person) and hope that it is as clean body wise as the owner claims. I know the brakes on it are toast but I am not that worried about that.
As for costing a car project.. it's my experience that if you arn't doing it over 10 years you have to at least triple the expected cost.
I am going to have some tranny's I don't need at some point.. do you still need one?
