"Switch the ignition on, put the car in top gear, and flick the accuating switch to the overdrive position. If a 3/16 in diameter rod will now pass through hole A in the operating arm, adjustment is correct.
If adjustment is necessary, holt the solenoid plunger by the two flats machined on its shank and, pressing the plunger tightly into the solenoid, screw the self- locking nut in or out until the test rod can be pushed fully into the casing."
