Cam shaft 1800

Perhaps it was an 'A' grind cam in my PV's B18 engine. (twin carb Sport model). There wasn't any indication it had ever been apart, and the car had 120,000 miles. Whatever it was it had a small amount of lift (even across all lobes - it wasn't worn down) and really just would not rev with power over 5000 rpm at all, although it pulled very well at low rpms. I used to have to hide behind semis on the highway to keep up with traffic speeds. When the cam gear went bad I went ahead and replaced it with a 'D' cam which made a substantial improvement. I think I pitched the cam when I moved last, not thinking I would ever want to use it in -anything- so I can't look now at the stamping to see what it actually was.
