Resurrecting from unexpected storage 700 1985

Hi Simon,
I wouldn't worry to much about 6 months either .
The question is not what you should do after storage but BEFORE you store it: An oilchange to put fresh oil in the engine to eliminate any acid attacks on parts where oil is sitting for a long time such as seals etc.
Just had a vivid reminder of this when a bought a used 16 valve Volvo for my daughter. The head had 6 bent valves so I bought a used head at the yard where it had been sitting for several months with old oil. The camshaft seals where leaking despite new seals and and a close inspection revealed that the rubbing surface on the cam where the seal runs had corrosion damage in addition to the worn grove. Luckily I had the other cams from the damaged head and they were fine. Bleeding the brakes before wouldn't hurt either to get moisture out of the system.
