In those posts we were talking about getting maximum fuel efficiency, not performance or traction, the opposite of what is wanted for low rolling resistance. Otherwise, yeah, for my daily driver, i'll stick with the high traction stuff. And then for running different pressures, it all depends on the tires and the car and the setup. I prefer to run mid 30s normally. For example, if i were to have the factory recommended 28ish tire pressure in my parents minivan, it would scrub/roll over early and not have good traction, so i would pump it up a bit more, to firm it up; better response, and better traction. Also, if you look at what people at autocross events, they are running more than thirty psi, i've never heard of anyone running less at a track event. Also, as i said, it depends on the tire and suspension setup... Here's more info, that know a lot more than i do; :)
