When I ordered up the parts today (fiber gear (I know, I know, not thinking long term, next time...), washer and a new gasket for the cam gear cover) alloemautoparts indicated that the washer was bronze. The picture on the web site certainly looked like that was the case. I'll probably get that thing apart early next week and I'll report on what I find. I'm crossing my fingers that my cam isn't totally hosed.
