11) Blower motor on an airbag equipped car.
Seriously, I'd say the water pump is a little MORE difficult on that scale, and the timing belt job is not so difficult as to be just one degree below, say, front struts.
In my opinion, struts are harder than the blower motor job. You don't really need any special tools to do the blower motor, and it's just tedious. Struts require a lot of strength, special tools, possibly a helper, and involve taking apart a whole lot of serious iron. Plus there is the added threat of injury simply due to the power of the compressed coil springs.
Really I'd rather do a clutch than struts.
But the fan motor is a bigger or more time consuming job to the average home mechanic, I'd say, because taking apart the whole dashboard looks daunting. For whatever reason people can be afraid of things with wires on them. Labeling stuff helps in these cases; however I've found with the fan job, you can pull away the whole center console intact, and not have to disconnect much of anything for wiring. Just take it's screws out top and bottom and pull the whole frame back with it.
When are we gonna make a decent 240 FAQ anyway? :)
