Wing mirrors would be a good ways forward on the front fenders. In non-American English, fenders are known as wings.

As others have indicated, there are no really correct mirrors or mounting points. They were dealer installed to suit local vehicle codes and buyer preference. There are some common styles, but I wouldn't hit you for any period-correct mirror in a concours.
