Nah wing mirrors go on the wings, or fenders to to the non english speaking members of the english speaking world;-) Two nations divided by a common language.
As far as I know the only Volvo mirror available in period was the round 123GT style mirror which was also fitted to Duetts for instance. It is commonly seen on period photos of Swedish Police Amazons.
You often see the Albert mirror, which was aftermarket and very similar to the 1800ES style mirror now available in a Volvo box.
The 140 style door mirror which was listed in period (late 60's) in the parts manual is different from the version made today in that the mounting foot had studs, so the fixings wrre invisible. The Version available today has self tapping screws. Also the glas was crimped into the metal shell of the mirror head, the modern version has an ugly plastic filler.
To be truly genuine Volvo and in period the round headed long arm wing (fender) mirror is probably the way to go, or perhaps non screw mount door mirror.
The challenge is finding some.
Regards
Pete
