Rope Trick or Impact Wrench? HELP!

Well I used a trick that was given to my by Tony Hoffman.

Common to many users, I have used it a few times in the past couple years and it works great.

basically put a long breaker bar and socket onto the crank, at a somewhat horizontal position, and rest the end of it off the ground on a couple bricks (actual bricks) or something big/solid/large. Do this so that the breaker bar is on the drivers side (USA) of the car. Unplug the ignition wire to coil, and give the engine a quick sudden crank via the key. This forces the crank to turn, while the breaker bar is holding down the bolt, and it breaks free.

Worked great for me and many others.

Haven't heard anyone damaging starter gear or crank, but at your own risk, and make sure you have the bar in the right direction to UNDO the bolt, not tighten it.
