How to get brighter headlights? 700 1989

Hi all

I know is a common problem with this 700 series and I'd appreciate if anyone could help me on this since I'm doing more night driving nowadays

I've read through the FAQ and this is what I've done

-changed to Osram ordinary Bulbs - slight improvement. Sorry but can't get the premium bulbs mentioned in the FAQ over here in Malaysia.
-aimed my headlights as laid out in the FAQ (with adjustments for RHD of course) - marked improvement but still not as bright as other non-volvo cars.

I'm left me think with one, a harness upgrade or maybe changing to an E code headlamp.

Questions are how do I go about rewiring my lights, no instructions that I can find in the FAQ. And also does my car already has E -code headlamps? All the locally assembled 740 here has two lights with both hi and low beam combined and I know in the US they came with those 4 headlamps. I can't find anything written on the lamps saying e code.
