Bottom gaskets/seals 140-160

I have noticed that some (especially converted felt-type) oil seal covers do not fit flush at the bottom when centered on the crankshaft. I solved this dilemma by using RTV on the bottom of the end-pieces. I think that is why you found the extra gasket material. Either someone did not get the covers on correctly OR when installed concentric with the crank they did not seal properly at the sump.
