What is this threaded hole for on the block??? 700

Unless, somehow, it's a European/UK spec which DO have the alternator on your passenger side, at least my 745GLE (non-turbo) does. Mine also has the PS pump on your driver's side, high (I don't have AC). I realise the US spec. is different but perhaps there are variants? Regards.
