Cheap source for Idle valve? 700

Unfortunately I think it is a Regina, one mechanic told us that once and I don't know enough about them to know how to identify whether or not it is- do you know?

Check the FAQ, there may be pictures.

The big difference is that the power stage is integrated with the coil on the Regina system. So there's a big scary looking heat sink on the coil. Also, no AMM. The MAP does have connector on it, but it should look different from the AMM (obviously no Bosch PN on it). For shits and giggles I ordered a Rex/Regina manual (hey, it was only $10) along with the LH 2.4 book for fiddling with the friend's 760, and if all goes well they should be here next week.

All I know with regard to the ICV is that it's the two wire, which according to my 240 Bentley manual should be 8ohms whereas it's reading 4, which also seems odd since it's an even number.

The resistance listed in the Bentley manual is for the LH 2.4 motor. If you can scam a Bosch part number off of the motor you've got, you'll get an idea of what's wrong.

If you search the archives you can unearth some real useful posts from a Volvo tech who posted here quite a bit on the Regina setup. I believe there were ECU updates and an updated FPR issued to smooth out the idle problems with the Regina system.

I love the service at FCP Groton, Nick is a great guy to deal with.. but I don't think he knows the cars as well as some of the more seasoned brick boarders/sbricks listers.

My 760 is doing great. New motor mounts and a rear sway bar.. and it feels like a whole new car. Had to bust out the impact tools for the right side mount. Of course it's not rattling so much either, now that I've ripped apart enough of the interior :)
