A/C Compressor Question 700

There is a remote chance the diode is shorted. If you have a voltmeter like a Fluke that can measure diode voltage drop, disconnect the clutch wire and measure voltage drop from the connector to car frame and then in reverse. You should read .5 v one way but not the other. If not it is broken, but can be replaced with one from radio shack for about $5.
