Sounds like an idea I will use.

I like to dim the instrument cluster lights on a night drive, so I must ask: Is your clock light still wired into the dash light dimmer knob system? If yes, how does the LED perform?

Why did you choose blue? Wonder if green or red would be adequate?

Maybe I'll modify the wiring so that just the instrument lights stay on the rheostat. Hmmm. Clock light comes off the instrument panel circuit board. Hmmmm. More than just a little work. Rats.
