Ok it's 2:30 in the morning and I just finished installing a new light in the small clock in the center console location, not the speedo location of the large clock. I now have a bright clock at night. Going to do the rest of the console lights in the morning. Anyway here is what I did, with the suggestions of many people here. I took out the small black light holder. I could not get the pins out so I made a very small hole on each side of the pins at the rear. About the size of a period on this page.(.) Then I purchased an LED from Radio Shack pt.# 276-316. This is a very bright(2600mcd)20ma. 3.7volt 5mm diameter Blue LED. Yes blue.. I slid the leads into the holes I made in the holder and pushed the LED into the holder just till it was even with the top. Then I soldered a 470 Ohm 1/2 watt resister Radio Shack #271-115 to the longer lead (thats the positive side). I used this to lower the voltage from 12 to near 3,7. I soldered a small male spade terminal to the other end of the resister. I soldered a small wire to the minus side and grounded it to the body of the clock. Not really necessary since the minus lead is touching the grounding tab but I wanted to be sure. Make sure you insulate all the leads with either heat shrink tubing or some type of insulatiing material. So thats all there is to it. Sounds harder than it is. But is really simple to do..Hope this helps anyone with dim dash lights.........Max
