We need to start a competition for the most dodgey repairs on our bricks, there'd be some stiff competion on here. I'm already driving with the heater core bypassed, bits of pepsi can fiberglassed into the rear quarter and gutter rails, a dodgey intank feed and my third head gasket. Now I have no fuel relay either. At least I no longer have a home made switch to power up the turn-signal relay (that got interesting going round corners).
I had a spare K-Jet relay installed ('77, the silver cube with 5 pins sticking out of it), but my spare broke too, and yesterday I had to pull over and bypass the relay with a loop of wire. Finally the car is getting enough fuel and it's running great (apart from a vac leak I can't find which is giving me an intermittent high idle, and the blown exhaust flange)
Anyway, over the next few week, I've got about 2000 kms to drive around the state (very busy and lots of places I need to be). Is this going to be alright with the fuel pumps jumped to run continuously? (obviously I unplug the jumper when the car's parked).
Any potential problems?
