I'm with George 100%...
Whatever you do, if you plan to scrap the old 142, be sure to absolutely definitely not toss the carbs. Keep 'em around fer sure. You'd also do well to keep any other bits you can easily get at. Ideally, the whole car, though not much will interchange with your new one.
At least try to find an appropriate home for it with someone that can use the bits.
If the strombergs are working well, sure... stick with 'em. If they start running poorly, check the rubber diaphrams. If that don't help, put your SUs on.
