Thanks Rhys. My father bought the Autobooks just after he bought the car, and in South Africa we only got Autobooks and Haynes. This Autobooks is actually not bad, better than Haynes. Four years ago I've migrated with my wife and kid to New Zealand, and my father gave me the 144 which he had not used for about 10 years. And just the other day I found a Chiltons (which covers all Volvos up to 1970...) and though it might be a nice addition. Got a Bentley for the later 240 series which is great and a Haynes for the 740 which is not so good. But for the 140 I can find virtually nothing in New Zealand. Volvo started here only with the 240 series, so even basic service parts are hard to find for my '71. It's actually easier and cheaper to order from ScandCar. Even cheaper than ordering from US!
This turned out to be a great discussion. Your comment about throttle response turned on the light for me. Could not understand why the car responds to well after idling at traffic lights, but not off idle. I've got to get those needles sorted out. One of them are leaking oil and I can't get the needle out gently. Do not want to use force unless I've got spares...
Best regards
Niel
